A Midtown West apartment got a major facelift recently courtesy of the dynamic duo of MyHome remodeling professionals, Anri Tchelidze and Adam Blake. Remodeling this space to feel larger and more efficient was very important for the homeowners residing at 424 West 46th Street. The homeowner desired a whole new modern aesthetic for their NYC bathroom including more light and space.
Before the renovation, this was a very small and dated bathroom. The wall tiles were painted by a previous owner that did not suit the current homeowner’s tastes. Overall, the space was cramped and difficult to clean so it needed a major overhaul in order to elevate the home and the owner’s spirits. Specifically, the bathroom needed updating to modern standards as it had not been upgraded in many years. The vanity was too large, and the style did not fit the homeowner’s aesthetic. The homeowner was also adamant that the new design include plenty of light, especially since the bathroom had no window.
MyHome worked with the owner to create a design that would bring happiness instead of headaches. The homeowner wanted a clean, simple bathroom with obvious graphic elements. Designer Adam Blake decided the floor would be the boldest feature. The end result is a bathroom with a high end hotel feeling including luxury finishes.
In order to complete the ideal remodel design, Adam and Anri worked alongside the homeowner to select AKDO 4”x12” white subway tiles for the walls, with an accent wall in a Daltile Neoconcrete finish. The graphic floor tiles are Zio Retro Fleur Noir 8”x8” porcelain tiles, which adds a very dramatic effect in the small space. The dim overhead fixture was replaced with a bright LED light to bring in much more light. A Sofia medicine cabinet was added with integral LED lighting for even more brightness. Fleurco frameless shower doors allow the space to feel larger, as compared to the old shower curtain. The wall was painted with a bright neutral color, Benjamin Moore Dove Wing. The homeowner and MyHome team were happy to find that this project was a simple, clean installation with very few issues.
